USQ MBA program ranked among country’s best

USQ MBA ranked in top 5 MBA's in Australia

The University of Southern Queensland’s (USQ) Master of Business Administration is in the top five MBA programs in the country according to the latest Australian Financial Review BOSS rankings.

The survey, which is undertaken every two years, saw the USQ School of Management and Enterprise’s MBA program move from eighth to fifth since 2013.

The grading system assesses business education across Australia, weighing factors such as feedback from recent alumni, academic staff credentials and business experience, and program design.

USQ MBA Program Director Associate Professor Jane Summers said she was thrilled to hear the news of this year’s rankings with USQ being acknowledged as a leading provider in Australia.

“It is a testament to the quality of our program and commitment to delivering the best outcomes for our students,” she said.

Associate Professor Summers said providing a flexible program that allowed students to study online and in their own time and space was clearly meeting a market niche for postgraduate business education.

"Consistently the message is that online delivery and being able to study anywhere, anytime is very attractive to time-challenged students who choose our MBA," she says.

"One question on the MBA survey asks why they chose this particular institution, and for USQ’s alumni many noted they wouldn't have otherwise been able to study if they didn't have the online option."

USQ’s MBA program has a number of key features that help to set it apart and provide enhanced value to students.

These include being able to specialise in focused areas in addition to the traditional business courses, an emphasis on high quality teaching with personalised support, relevant and innovative curriculum and an international faculty with strong industry networks.

USQ Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Jan Thomas said she was thrilled with the success of the University’s MBA program.

“It’s a great recognition of the important work being undertaken by USQ staff, as well as a reflection of the dedication and hard work of our MBA students and alumni,” Professor Thomas said.

“The USQ MBA is focused on qualifying students for a wide range of public or private positions nationally and internationally.

“It’s a flexible degree that covers change and sustainability across global markets and contexts, as well as areas of contemporary business management.”
