A Message from the newly elected Management Committee
As with any volunteer organisation, we must acknowledge the contributions of the individuals that have laboured before us and special mention goes to Dr Janson Yap, Leesa Soulodre, Yoong Hui Chia, Jean Xia Jing, and Dr. Kumaran Rajaram. There must have been many others that have contributed their time and effort and we look forward to getting to know them in due course.
The Management Committee is now developing the Activity Plan for the year ahead and a focus will be given on expanding our collaborations across the USQ and Australian Alumni network in the region.
An immediate focus will be to explore collaboration opportunities with S P Jain School of Global Management. Dr John Fong is the CEO of SP Jain which has a beautiful 7-acre campus right next to HortPark. SP Jain was invited to start a campus in Singapore by the Economic Development Board back in 2005 and they now occupy a heritage-listed colonial building and have a total of 3000 students from 40 different countries studying across its four campuses in Singapore, Sydney, Dubai and Mumbai. All degrees awarded by SP Jain are accredited by the Australian Government (TEQSA) and hence this represents an excellent opportunity for networking between USQ, SP Jain and other Australian Universities.
In the spirit of networking, the USQ bi-monthly networking events will continue to be held in collaboration with Australian Alumni Singapore. Upcoming events are as follows:
